Palworld has exactly one paid DLC — the Palworld - Soundtrack add-on — and every feature people search for under “Palworld DLC” (crossplay, base-building upgrades, PvP, the 1.0 regions, new Pals) arrived through free updates instead. No paid expansion or story DLC has been announced. Checked 7 September 2026 against the Steam store API and the sources listed below.

That split confuses a lot of players, because press and forums casually call every major patch “DLC” even when nothing is paid. Here’s what’s actually paid, what’s free, and what each update added.

The one paid DLC: Palworld - Soundtrack

Steam’s own DLC listing for Palworld shows exactly one entry: Palworld - Soundtrack, a standalone product with its own app ID (2771110), released 19 January 2024. It’s the game’s official audio tracks, with its own base price of $5.99 on the US Steam store — separate from the $29.99 US base game price. It is not a cosmetics pack, not a map expansion, and not a story add-on. Buying it changes nothing about gameplay; it exists purely for people who want the soundtrack files outside the game.

There is no second DLC, no season pass, and no bundled “DLC pack” on Steam. If a listing elsewhere claims otherwise, it isn’t reflected on Palworld’s official Steam page as of this check.

The free “DLC”: what each update actually added

This is the part searchers usually mean by “Palworld DLC features” — the big content drops that came at no extra cost.

v0.5.0, “Crossplay Update” (19 March 2025). This update added cross-platform multiplayer, a Global Palbox accessible from any base, Dimensional Pal Storage, purely cosmetic armor slots, a Photo Mode, blueprint-based building, and dedicated server support on Mac.

v0.6.0, “Tides of Terraria” (25 June 2025). A collaboration update bringing Terraria-themed content into Palworld. Beyond the collaboration headline, the specific added items aren’t independently verified here.

v0.7.0, “Home Sweet Home” (17 December 2025). The biggest building-focused patch to date: 48 new building parts including triangular pieces, full building color customization, a redesigned building menu, an ULTRAKILL collaboration (V1/V2 armor and weapons), a Raid Area option for raid bosses, an experimental PvP mode, and — notably — Steam Workshop mod support.

v1.0, full release (10 July 2026). The update that took Palworld out of early access. It added two new regions, Sunreach and World Tree, roughly doubling the map; 72 new Pals; an Awakening system built around Radiant Gems; a Mutation/breeding system; a Wing Pack glider; a proper PvP mode; a combat and weapon rework with 13 new weapons (6 equippable); and in-game voice chat. See the full breakdown in the major 1.0 update guide and the Sunreach and World Tree walkthrough.

v1.0.3 (12 August 2026) and v1.0.4 (7 September 2026). Follow-up patches, not new content drops: lowering the Jetragon tech unlock requirement, buffing World Tree Holy Water, nerfing the Sphere Launcher’s fire rate, adding two sub-missions (“Beyond Dimensions” and “From the Far Side of the Moon”), and further bug fixes. For how Pocketpair’s patch cadence works in general, see how Palworld updates work.

Price and in-app purchases

The base game’s Steam price is $29.99 in the US store — regional prices differ, and Steam listings can carry temporary sales that don’t change the base price. Pocketpair has said publicly it does not plan to raise that price after the 1.0 launch.

Checking Palworld’s Steam store categories directly shows no “In-App Purchases” tag — Palworld does not sell in-game currency, loot boxes, or cosmetics for real money inside the client. Family Sharing is listed among the store categories, so the game can be shared the way Steam normally allows.

What’s NOT Palworld DLC

A few Palworld-adjacent products get mistaken for game DLC because they share the name or the Pal designs:

  • Dawn of Palpagos is a physical trading card set published by Bushiroad — a card game you buy in stores or online, not downloadable content for the video game. See the Palworld TCG card shortage coverage for what it actually is.
  • Palworld: Palfarm is a separate, standalone farming spin-off game, announced 23 September 2025 with no release date set. It is not an add-on for the main game.
  • Palworld Online is a separate mobile MMO for iOS and Android, published by Garena and announced 3 August 2026. It runs as its own game with its own shared world, not as content inside the Steam/console version. See the Palworld Online announcement coverage.

None of these three appear on Palworld’s Steam DLC listing, and none require or unlock anything in the base game.

What’s next

Pocketpair has confirmed a version 1.1 is in development, and publicly described it as a free update rather than paid DLC — see the 1.1 teaser coverage. As of 7 September 2026, no roadmap or announcement mentions a paid expansion, and outlets tracking Pocketpair’s plans report no DLC plans on record. If that changes, it will show up first on Palworld’s own Steam DLC page.

Before jumping into new content, make sure the game will run smoothly — check the Palworld system requirements — and if you’re starting fresh, the Palworld first steps guide covers the basics. For playing with friends across platforms, see Palworld multiplayer and dedicated servers.
