This document explains what data this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
In short
We do not ask you to register and we do not collect names, addresses or phone numbers. What is collected automatically is technical visit statistics and data used to show ads (see sections 2–7), without your name or contact details. If you email us, we will see your email address — precisely because you provided it yourself.
1. Who is responsible for processing data
The site is an independent fan project run by Vitalij Pobereznik, who is responsible for processing data on it. Contact details for any data-related question are given at the end of this page and on the Contact page.
2. Data collected automatically
When you open a page, the analytics services and the hosting provider record technical information:
- your IP address (see section 5 for how Google Analytics uses it);
- browser type, operating system and device type;
- the address of the page you opened and of the page you came from;
- approximate city or country (by IP);
- the time and duration of the visit.
This data contains no names, email addresses or phone numbers, and we make no attempt to find out who you are. It is not fully anonymous, though: where cookies are allowed (section 4), Google Analytics and Google AdSense assign your browser a unique identifier that recognises it on later visits. We ourselves use this data only to understand which articles are useful to readers and to spot technical problems.
3. Data you provide voluntarily
If you write to us by email or on Telegram, we receive your message and the contact it came from. We use them only to reply and do not add them to any mailing list.
4. Cookies
- Technical cookies and browser local storage. They remember your language choice and the fact that you closed the subscription banner. The site works without them, but a few small things will have to be repeated every time.
- Analytics cookies — from Google Analytics (see section 5).
- Advertising cookies — from Google and its partners (see section 6).
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. This will not affect access to the site’s material.
Your consent. How we ask for consent depends on where you visit from.
- EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The first time you open the site, a banner appears at the bottom with a choice of “Accept” or “Reject”. Until you accept, Google Analytics and Google AdSense set no analytics or advertising cookies and do not personalise ads. Google determines your country from your IP address, and the banner is shown based on your device’s time zone. Either one pointing to these countries is enough for cookies to stay off. The banner itself appears only when your time zone matches; if you don’t see it, use the “Cookie settings” button in the footer.
- Other countries. No banner appears on its own: Google Analytics and Google AdSense set cookies straight away, and ads may be personalised. You can opt out at any time with the “Cookie settings” button in the footer (see below), and with the tools in sections 5 and 6.
In both cases the Google scripts themselves are loaded, which means Google sees your IP address, your browser and the address of the page you opened — much as with the video thumbnails described in section 7.
Where your choice is stored. Not in a cookie, but in your browser’s local storage
(localStorage), under the key gm-consent-v1. That record is not sent to us or to Google — it
lives only in your browser on this device. So in another browser, on another device, or after
you clear the site’s data, your choice resets to the default for your country (see above): where
the banner applies, it will appear again.
How to change or withdraw your consent. Every page has a “Cookie settings” button in the footer. It switches your consent to “rejected”, remembers that, and shows the banner — withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. The button does not delete cookies that were already set: those can only be removed in your browser settings, as described in the paragraph above.
5. Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits. For visitors from the EU, Switzerland and the UK, Google Analytics uses the IP address only to estimate approximate location and drops it before the data is logged — these IP addresses are not logged or stored. For other visitors, the IP address is also used to filter spam; Google Analytics does not associate the raw IP address with user identifiers and discards it after use. Google processes this data as a separate controller under its own policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
You can opt out of sending data to Google Analytics with the official browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6. Advertising
The site may show advertising through Google AdSense and Google partner networks.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. More detail: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can turn off personalised Google advertising here: https://adssettings.google.com/ (the older address https://www.google.com/settings/ads leads to the same page).
- To opt out of personalisation in other networks: https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and https://www.youronlinechoices.com/.
We do not pass advertising networks any data you sent us personally.
7. Embedded video
Some articles embed the game publisher’s official trailers from YouTube.
- The player does not load on its own. At first only a still thumbnail of the video is shown; the player itself appears only after you click it.
- The thumbnail is fetched from Google’s
i.ytimg.comserver together with the page. This means Google sees your IP address and which of our pages the request came from, even if you never started the video. No cookies are set at this step. - Once you click, the player loads from
youtube-nocookie.com— YouTube’s mode without personalised advertising cookies. From that moment Google’s privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy. - If you want no requests to Google at all, use the “Watch on YouTube” link under the player only when you choose to, and block third-party resources with a browser extension.
8. Sharing data with third parties
We do not sell your data and do not pass on anything you sent us personally. Technical data goes directly from your browser to the services named above: hosting, analytics, Google’s ad network and its partners (section 6) and YouTube (section 7) — each within its own policy.
9. Retention period
Google Analytics user- and event-level data is kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics (2 or 14 months); aggregated reports are not limited by this period. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed to reply.
10. Your rights
If GDPR or comparable legislation applies to you, you have the right to obtain a copy of your data, to request its correction or deletion, to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
11. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. The game the site covers carries an adult age rating.
12. External links and embedded content
We link to third-party sites (official publisher resources, videos, stores). We are not responsible for their privacy policies.
13. Changes
We may update this document. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
